Sound Breaker resilient bars are acoustic isolation channels suitable for use on the underside of timber joists and metal and timber stud partition walls. They normally come in 3m lengths and are screwed across the underside of the existing joists. You must be careful to ensure that when fixing plasterboard to Resilient Bar you do not screw into joists. It is preferable to mark the position of joists on the wall during installation.
They are manufactured from pressed hot dipped zinc steel and are designed to minimise both airborne and impact noise transfer between adjacent rooms. SoundBreaker Bars effectively de-couple a ceiling from the floor above or a wall from a secondary partition. When used in conjunction with SoundSlab they can dramatically improve the acoustic performance of a structure.
