Hush Ply is engineered for impact noise reduction and can be used as a structural or overlay board. It consists of 2 layers; an upper layer of 18mm Ply T+G Board and a 10mm Felt layer. The felt helps to dampen impact sound whilst the ply reduces airborne noise and accepts nail penetration to secure a solid wood floor (although nails must not penetrate into the felt layer).
Hush-Ply 28 offers enhanced moisture protection and is therefore particularly suited for bathrooms and kitchens. It can be used as part of a Part E compliant structure, although it is meant mainly for reducing impact noise in renovation situations.
