SoundDead 15 is an affordable alternative to Acoustilay 15 and nominally 15% less than the RRP. It has similar physical properties to provide a comparable acoustic benefit. SoundDead 15 minimises both impact and airborne noise and can be used to meet the requirements of Building Regulations Part E as part of a separating floor structure.
It can be laid on both concrete and timber sub-flooring and is suitable for most floor finishes including carpets, laminate and engineered wood floors. When laid under wood floors, it is recommended that a minimum 6 mm thick MDF is glued onto the SoundDead 15 to reduce deflection.
SoundDead is quick and easy to install. It can be either loose laid or bonded to the floor or fitted tight up to the perimeters without the need for an isolating strip. SoundDead 15 will not transmit vibrations into the walls. Sheets should be laid in a brick pattern, with staggered joints, and butted tight together ensuring that there are no gaps.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your team for all the extra help you have given me in dealing with my rather sensitive issue of noise transmission to my downstairs neighbour. It has been invaluable. In recognition, I have made a £50 donation to the charity: Action on Hearing Loss.
Have worked with Sound Solution for the last 7 years and have found them to be very professional and excellent at their work. Always happy to provide me with advice pre and post purchasing new buildings and during development projects. We have worked on various scale of projects and so far have found nothing that phases them. The reports are well written, clear and easy to follow. A great asset to our extended team.
