ScreedBoard 28 is a popular and effective composite acoustic flooring treatment manufactured in order to exceed part E of the Building Regulations. Currently, it is the only single layer acoustic flooring for timber floors that carries a Robust Detail (E-FT-5 & E-FT-6).
There are a number of different benefits to the ScreedBoard. It is known for having a strong and consistent effect on noise from both impact and airborne sources. Measuring only 28mm thick, it can suit concrete, timber and steel floors, and can be used for both new build and refurbished buildings. The slim design is ideal for helping to minimise the impact on floor height.
The Screedboard can also accept a wide variety of floor finishes, such as ceramic tiles, Amtico vinyl, wooden laminate and carpet.
Installation of the ScreedBoard 28 is relatively easy. The interlocking edge detail means that the boards can click together, removing the need for screws, and the boards themselves are easy to cut.
The ScreedBoard is also extremely durable. It doesn't contract or expand when exposed to water, and is a hard wearing surface with the same feel as a screed. What's more, it has a genuine high resistance to impact, and a very low risk of cracking. The latter characteristic makes it particularly suitable for use with timber floors.
